Sunday June 8 3014
Met with my friend M and her daughter O for breakfast but by the time they arrived it was really brunch. It rained after I walked the dog. I deleted some information someone had posted to my blog that was not my information and probably would have represented a copyright violation as it seemed to be sports information that was either real or made-up. It was hard to tell as it was in another language. I'm blogging again. Okay, it's boring and irrelevant but I'm writing it; that's the important part. It will only get better. Today is a good day.
I'll catch the shuttle to Venus tonight. We're making a run to pick up some gases and return to Earth. I like working the late shift. It means we always leave at night and the Earth looks so pretty when all the lights are on, at least when we take off. The trip to Venus is now only about 2 1/2 hours with the latest improvements to the warp drive. I often wonder what it would be like to visit some of the older other solar systems but I only have clearance for trips within this one right now. It would be fun to visit Titan again. Spending time with the Iggies was truly a mind-expanding (does anyone still say that?) event. I learned a whole new way to look at creation and the galaxy. When we weren't wiping off the goop from the Iggies drooling we had some truly great conversations with them. To be so old and having traveled all the south-end of the Universe has given them an immense storehouse of stories and anecdotes that us laughing, crying and constantly amazed. While some of it is hard to believe, all you have to do is look at their chuckling, jigging mass to realize anything is possible.
